SUMTEQ GmbH is a young high-tech start-up focusing on the commercialization of SUMFOAM®, an innovative high-performance material on the basis of polymer nanofoams. Using a disruptive and cost-efficient technology SUMTEQ is world-wide the first company, being able to produce polymer nanofoams on an industrial scale.

SUMFOAM® is characterized by its unique combination of different physical features: pore size in the nanometer range, low density, stable and open-cellular structure as well as a highly hydrophobic surface. These features result on the one hand in a highly efficient insulation performance, on the other hand to an extraordinary absorption capacity of nonpolar fluids. As the foaming process is exclusively performed with climate-friendly CO2 and the product can be recycled 100%, additionally a huge ecological benefit can be achieved.

Due to the scalability and the costs-efficient processes, SUMFOAM® can be offered with an attractive price-performance ratio. This enables different applications in the insulation segment, the absorption industry and in the chemical process industry, e.g. as oil binding agent or as carrier material.
