4th European Chemistry Partnering: the chemical industry on course for the future

Today the 4th European Chemistry Partnering (ECP) brought together several hundred industry representatives from the chemical industry and other sectors in Frankfurt am Main to discuss product innovations, development potentials and concrete cooperative steps into the future. See our photogallery.

The event kicked off with a keynote address by Fernando J. Gómez, head of the program for the chemical and materials industry at the World Economic Forum. He underlined the need for global cooperation in view of the future sustainability challenges and the 17 sustainability goals of the United Nations. More than 1,300 pre-arranged partnering discussions as well as several company workshops and presentations in the exhibition area of the Kap Europa Congress Center at Messe Frankfurt provided the substantive input for the day. Once again, this created the particularly intensive, yet open and productive laboratory atmosphere of the ECP with 650 participants from 27 nations.

The ECP Job Exchange, organized for the first time, provided additional stimulation and offered graduates the opportunity to make direct contact with large companies and start-ups in a unique environment. In the concluding panel discussion, high-ranking industry representatives addressed the future of the financial ecosystem and picked up on the focus on sustainability already set in Fernando J. Gómez’s keynote speech.

Dr. Holger Bengs, CEO of BCNP Consultants GmbH and initiator of the European Chemistry Partnering, summed up: “Especially in economically difficult times, it is important that large companies as well as start-ups take the lead to achieve sustainable business. Getting to know each other personally creates the basis for openness, trust and the willingness to cooperate and to succeed together”.

The 5th European Chemistry Partnering will take place on 23 February 2021 in Frankfurt am Main.
